Paragliding to Feel the Freedom of Flying

The incredible Paramotor journey of Russel Metlitzky - a paraplegic man who conquered the world of Powered Paragliding! This inspirational event was filmed at the BlackHawk Paramotor Ranch in Valley Springs, California. Please show your support for Russel by liking, sharing, or commenting on this video.

Russel Metlitzky, a Pasadena California resident, was injured in a motorcycle accident in his mid 20's. He was left paralyzed from the chest down. This life-altering tragedy was devastating, especially for such an extreme-sports fanatic. After a long recovery process, and with the loving support of his family & friends, Russel went on to show the world his true warrior strength. It wasn't long before he was base jumping, paragliding, rock climbing, and skydiving again. Russel is a shining example of the saying "never give up" and has become a legend in the Powered Paragliding community. We hope this video inspires and touches the lives of others who have experienced Russel's situation.

Everyone at Team BlackHawk would like to thank all those who helped make Russel's journey possible. The names are many. Special thanks to Robert & Samantha Whittaker for filming and editing this piece.

On April 19th, at 6:30am, he arrived at the news station in Sacramento ready to go. Russel's story has touched the lives of countless people and we are very lucky to have had him as a student. Many of you may have met Russel at the 2013 Salton Sea Fly-In. He took to the sky in his newly designed custom BlackHawk Quad and 4-stroke Paramotor.
